East Spring Street School

East Spring Street School was located at 1613 East Spring. It was originally constructed in 1868, was torn down in 1938 and a new school, which is still presently standing, was built. It was renamed Lucille Reisz Elementary school in honor or the former Principal Miss Lucille Reisz. It closed as an elementary school in 1991. At one time it was the Adult Education Department and then had the Floyd Community Corrections offices which provided diversion from prison and county jail for non-violent crimes.
